Details: The Refuge was established in 1963 to provide habitat for migratory birds and the name honors the late U.S. Senator Lee Metcalf, a local high school graduate, with a lifelong commitment to conservation.

Birds: Bald Eagle, Osprey, Waterfowl, Shorebirds.

Note: Bird listings may include resident and migratory birds and common and rare sightings.
