Thousands of birds from the Central and Mississippi flyways fly through the area on their way to and from Central and South America. The headquarters is located 7 miles south of Alamo, Texas, on FM 907 about 1/4 mile east on U.S. Highway 281. Birds: Loons, Grebes, Pelicans, Cormarants, Darters, Frigatebirds, Bitterns, Herons, Ibises, Spoonbills, Storks, New World Vultures, Ducks, Geese, Swans, Hawks, Kites, Eagles, Caracaras, Falcons, Curassows, Guans, New World Quail, Rails, Gallinules, Coots, Cranes, Plovers, Stilts, Avocets, Jacanas, Sandpipers, Phalaropes, Gulls, Terns, Skimmers, Pigeons, Doves, Parakeets, Parrots, Cuckoos, Roadrunners, Anis, Barn Owls, Typical Owls, Goatsuckers, Swifts, Hummingbirds, Trogons, Kingfishers, Woodpeckers, Tyrant Flycatchers, Shrikes, Vireos, Jays, Crows, Larks, Swallows, Chickadees, Titmice, Verdins, Nuthatches, Creepers, Wrens, Kinglets, Gnatcatchers, Thrushes, Mockingbirds, Thrashers, Starlings, Wagtails, Pipits, Waxwings, Silky-Flycatchers, Wood-warblers, Tangers, Sparrows, Cardinals, Blackbirds, Finches, Old World Sparrows.
