Details: The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge was established to conserve caribou herds, polar bears, grizzly bears, muskox, dall sheep, wolves, wolverines, snow geese, peregrine falcons and other migratory birds. The refuge consists of millions of acres of an unbroken continuum of arctic and subarctic ecosystems.

Birds: Loons, Grebes, Shearwater, Waterfowl, Hawks, Eagles, Falcons, Grouse, Ptarmigan, Coots, Cranes, Shorebirds, Jaegers, Gulls, Terns, Alcids, Owls, Nighthawks, Hummingbirds, Kingfishers, Woodpeckers, Flycatchers, Larks, Swallows, Jays, Ravens, Chickadees, Dippers, Thrushes, Wagtails, Pipits, Waxwings, Shrikes, Warblers, Sparrows, Blackbirds, Finches.
