Details: The Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge consists of over 221 square miles of Everglades habitat and a cypress swamp. It is the northernmost portion of the Everglades, and is home to the American alligator and the endangered Everglades snail kite. The refuge offers walking trails, a canoe trail, bike trail, boat ramps, fishing platform, observation towers, butterfly garden, and a visitor center.

Birds: Grebes, Pelicans, Herons, Egrets, Ibises, Spoonbill, Stork, Watefowl, Vultures, Hawks, Wild Turkey, Quail, Rails, Gullinules, Coots, Cranes, Shorebirds, Gulls, Terns, Pigeons, Doves, Cuckoos, Owls, Goatsuckers, Swifts, Hummingbirds, Kingfishers, Woodpeckers, Flycatchers, Larks, Martins, Swallows, Jays, Crows, Wrens, Kinglets, Gnatcatchers, Bluebirds, Thrushes, Robin, Thrashers, Pipits, Waxwings, Starlings, Strikes, Vireos, Warblers, Tanagers, New World Finches, Sparros, Blackbirds, Grackles, Cowbirds, Orioles, Old World Finches, Weaver Finches.
