Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge (email) (website) 3860 Tollgate Blvd, Suite 300, Naples, FL 34114, Tel: 239-353-8442 Details: The Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge consists of 26,400 acres and was established to conserve and manage the Big Cypress Watershed primarily for the benefit of the Florida Panther. Other wildlife found in the refuge include black bear, bobcats, fox, coyotes, white-tailed deer, bats, alligators, and diamond-back rattlesnakes. The refuge is located 20 miles east of Naples, Florida at the northwest corner of Alligator Alley (I-75) and State Road 29. Birds: Grebes, Anhingas, Cormorants, Herons, Storks, Ibises, Spoonbills, Cranes, Ducks, Limpkin, Rails, Gallinules, Coots, Plovers, Sandpipers, American Vultures, Kites, Hawks, Eagles, Falcons, Grouse, Ptarmigans, Pigeons, Doves, Cuckoos, Owls, Nightjars, Swifts, Hummingbirds, Kingfishers, Woodpeckers, Tyrant Flycatchers, Swallows, Jays, Crows, Titmice, Wrens, Thrushes, Shrikes, Mockingbirds, Waxwings, Vireos, Warbler, Sparrows, Finches.
