Turkey vultures, norther harriers, American kestrels, Swainson's hawks, ferruginous hawks, red-tailed hawks, and golden eagles, Ring-necked pheasant, scaled quail, and lesser prairie chicken can be seen on or near the refuge. Birds: Grebes, Bitterns, Herons, Egrets, Swans, Geese, Ducks, American Vultures, Kites, Eagles, Hawks, Falcons, Pheasants, Grouse, Turkeys, Quail, Rails, Gallinules, Coots, Cranes, Plovers, Stilts, Avocets, Sandpipers, Phalaropes, Gulls, Terns, Pigeons, Doves, Cuckoos, Roadrunners, Anis, Typical Owl, Nighthawks, Nightjars, Tyrant Flycatchers, Larks, Swallows, Jays, Magpies, Crows, Thrushes, Wagtails, Pipits, Shrikes, Cardinals, Grosbeaks, Sparrows, Blackbirds, Orioles, Finches, Old World Sparrow.
