Details

Named after Jay Norwood "Ding" Darling, a political cartoonist with an eye toward conservation and managed by the National Wildlife Refuge System. The refuge is located on the subtropical barrier island of Sanibel in the Gulf of Mexico and is part of the largest undeveloped mangrove ecosystem in the United States. Viewing towers are available to observe birds.

Roseate Spoonbills, Night Heron, Little Blue Heron, White Ibis, Reddish Egret, and Tri-Colored Heron.
