Located 35 miles west of Colorado Springs, Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is a 6,000 acre wonderland of meadows, forests, and wildflowers. North/south on I-25: Exit at US 24 West, 35 miles to Florissant, OR East/west on US 24: Exit at Florissant. Follow signs two miles south on Teller County 1 to the visitor center.


Herons, Geese, Ducks, Vultures, Eagles, Hawks, Falcons, Grouse, Quail, Plovers, Sandpipers, Gulls, Pigeons, Doves, Owls, Goatsuckers, Hummingbirds, Kingfishers, Woodpeckers, Flycatchers, Swallows, Jays, Crows, Magpies, Chickadees, Nuthatches, Creepers, Wrens, Kinglets, Thrushes, Mockingbirds, Shrikes, Starlings, Larks, Vireos, Warblers, Tanagers, Towhees, Sparrows, Blackbirds, Orioles, Finches, Grosbeaks.
