Details

Curecanti National Recreation Area is formed by 3 reservoirs; Blue Mesa Reservoir, Morrow Point Reservoir, and East Portal. Bald Eagles feed on fish until the water is iced over. Gunnison Sage-Grouse, Gunnison's Prairie Dogs, mule deer also habitat the area. Recreational activities include camping, Morrow Point boat tours, boating, scenic drives, fishing, fly fishing, bird watching, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, swimming, cross country skiing / snowshoeing, snowmobiling.
