Kanuti National Wildlife Refuge lies on the Arctic Circle, is 1.637 million acres and was established, in part, to conserve white-fronted geese, other waterfowl and migratory birds, moose, caribou, and furbearers.


Loons, Grebes, Swans, Geese, Ducks, Hawks, Eagles, Falcons, Gallinaceous Birds, Cranes, Rails, Coots, Plovers, Sandpipers, Jaegers, Gulls, Terns, Owls, Kingfishers, Woodpeckers, Flycatchers, Larks, Swallows, Corvids, Titmice, Creepers, Dippers, Kinglets, Thrushes, Pipits, Waxwings, Shrikes, Warblers, Blackbirds, Sparrows, Finches.


Bird listings may include resident and migratory birds and common and rare sightings.
